Community Code of Conduct

The Exchange is a professional community for service-management practitioners. These are the ground rules. They are short on purpose.

Purpose and scope

This code applies to every space on the Exchange — the forums, comments, messages and profiles. By taking part you agree to follow it.

Be professional

Treat others as you would a respected colleague. Assume good faith, stay on topic, and keep debate about ideas, not people.

No harassment, hate or abuse

No personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, hateful content, threats or incitement. Persistent rudeness or point-scoring is not welcome.

No spam or undisclosed promotion

Don’t spam. If you have a commercial interest in something you mention — your employer’s product, a service you sell — say so clearly. Undisclosed vendor promotion will be removed.

Protect confidentiality and privacy

Don’t post employer secrets, client data, or another person’s private information. No doxxing. Share your own experience, not confidential material.

How to report a problem

Every thread and post has a Report option. Use it to flag anything that breaches this code. Reports go to the moderators for review.

What happens if the code is broken

Moderation is proportionate and follows a clear ladder: a warning, then a temporary suspension, then, for serious or repeated breaches, a ban. Content that breaches the code may be hidden while it is reviewed. If a decision affects you, you can ask a human to review it.
